Project 3 - The Cyclical Nature of Thing - Final

Image
Here a few of my iterations I created using Google Gemini and Adobe Photoshop. These images can be viewed as anything you can interpret it as. This mostly started because of the show I am watching, One Piece, and most specifically the Skypiea arc. I wanted to portray the rigning of the bess indicating victory and the end of war.  These are the last images that I created. I included the bell to indicate life or death and the pathway one take. There are other paths but lead to nowhere and are more decorated with flowerrs than the main one.  In the end, it is mostly what you decide what it means.

I enjoyed the bell picture that I created so I created a few iterations from it.  I think Gemini got annoyed with me and gave up on me.

Project 3 - The Cyclical Nature of Things - Practice

Image
So I'm finally starting. Here are some the practices I did with my images.  With this first one, I was kind of going with the cycle of knowledge. The original photo was the library on campus. There is a continuous cycle of adding and taking books out, or adding new information. These next photos were of some flowers I found on campus and I thought of the cycle of nature. These two flowers side by side shows what that life blooms beautifully and eventually dies. I played around with Gemni and was able to isolate the flowers and change the background. I added clocks to show that time is always running and is limited. The second one has chloroplasts which is what adds color to plants and as it dies, so does the flower. As a bio major I thought it was funny. Then this last one is of the founders bell at Durham Park. I am currently rewatching One Piece and I am at Skypiea and I initially wanted to incorporate that in someway. Also to tie in with the projects theme, I added the ang...

Project 3 - The Cyclical Nature of Things - Pictures

Here are my photos that I took, I started walking from king street all the way to Durham park. I wasn't very sure what the theme of this project was. So I just looked at the cycle of life itself. We are at the point right now where nature is dying as it get colder so I took a lot of pictures depicting that. I also took some pictures depicting a social cycle and a developmental cycle. There is construction on Howard street and at the apartments along King Street. The constant stage of development and improving the area is a continuous cycle as things degrade and need improvement. I also just took pictures of circular things.  (The is also a cabbage towards the end. This cabbage is at the App State sign near the bell and just thought it was funny.) https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1DK0XFigpvU-2NXmsWakDiQe7LgAbps2D

Project 2 - Destroy the Icon Project - Final

Image
Here are a few iterations that I made and trying to decide what I wanted to do.  This is my final for the Destroy the Icon project that I want to chose to print out. The original photo was the V-J Day at times square photo or sometimes known as the Kissing Sailor photo. To find what other images I was going to incorporate this, I stuck to the WWll theme. I wanted to show how this pairs happiness is also mirrored by great loss from other nations. I added symbolic symbols of victories and losses and the great loss that the war caused. We can mainly see the silhouette of the original image but is meshed together with other images and is giving into the meaning of loss: such the nuclear symbol I added or stains of red. I added some of the previous iterations into this one. I had a lot of fun in this project since the only requirement was to destroy the image. So there was free reign for anything and I fell that I encompassed that in this image.

Project 2 - Destroy the Icon - Progress Work

This is my up to date progress work. I've been getting more comfortable with photoshop and have been playing around with the different settings. I guess its becoming a statement piece of sorts. I guess I really like working with contrast and pops of color.

Here is another image that I made. I didn't do anything with the image yet but this is me mostly playing around with the pattern function and how to manipulate the image.

Here is an image I created using the American flag and the Star of David. I was able to include the American flag using the filters and it created a bubble around the couple. I used the pattern option with star of David. I will be using the different events or themes throughout world war 2 in the images.
