Project 2- Destroy the Icon - Progress Work

Image
So now that I have watch the majority of the videos, here is what I have done so far.  Its not much, but with the amount I struggle to log into the desktop at the library, it's something.

Project 2- Destroy the Icon - Practice w/ Photoshop Natural Filters

Image
Here is my flatten image after practicing how to incorporate 2 images together. I started with a red flower I got of pexels.  Then using the magic wand tool I was able to isolate the flower from the rest of the image. I had troubles following the video just due to the fact that I am using a apple desktop computer. So some of the keyboard steps I had to work around or search up how to do.  I will keep on working on how to use the select tool because it confuses me sometimes.

Project 2- Destroy the Icon - Progress/Practice Masks

Image
Here I was practicing with the creating a mask. It is a learning curve for me. I've been using my laptop which is not the best option for photoshop.  You can see still see the original background, but with my laptop, it's hard to get the details when photoshop keeps crashing every 5 seconds. But I think I have a general idea of what to do. I just need to keep using the desktops at the library.

Project 1- Fantasy Appliance - Final

Image
Here is my final piece for the Fantasy Appliance Project. It is mostly for interpretation when seeing it but I was inspired by the book "Tender is the Flesh" by Agustina Bazterria. I wanted to implement the industrial feeling the beginning of the book where there was a disconnection between humans and those who are not considered human but flesh.

Project 1 - Fantasy Appliance - Work In Progress

Image
. This is what I have as of Friday. I was sick last weekend so I didn't do a lot.  So I added a factory in the back and decided to do it towards the top and copied some parts of it to fill in the sides. the lower half is sedimentary rock which is where fossils are more likely to be found and I thought fit the theme. I added some graves to transition from the grave to the rock. I also added a gradient to the background to fill in the white spots. For the central piece, I might make it a bit light or the background a little darker so that it pops out more. I still have add a piece and the shadows, but besides that, I don't think I will add anything else.
